The big daddy in Makita's mitre saw range, with a cutting capacity of 115mm, 4.1/2" at 90° and a cross cut capacity of 308mm this toll will do the lot. With its depth of cut at 90° of 115mm this tool is ideally suited to the 1st fix trade where the cutting of large timbers is required for stud walls and structural surrounds both internally and externally. Weighing a mere 23.8kg this tool can easily be transported to and from the place of work and has a conveniently placed central carrying handle to offer greater comfort and balance. As with the other sliding mitre saws in the Makita range the linear bearings offer a very smooth and positive slide action and a table that can turn both left and right, the mitre range is 52° - 47° and has pre-set angle stops of the most popular angles. Located on either side of the table is 2 extension bars that help when cutting those longer lengths of wood and the left hand side of the fence can also be folded back to extend the rear fence. A very nice feature on this tool is its slow start which on a machine of this size fitted with a 1650watt motor is a very useful addition, couple that with its constant speed under load, you should achieve a very smooth cut. The switch on this machine requires 2 actions, the first is to push the button found on the top of the handle and then secondly to pull the main switch in, the button on the top off the machine is also a safety feature that once removed the machine will not be able to start.
